St Peter’s Church in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire was consecrated in August 1864 and throughout its 140 year history has successfully come through fire, flooding and the loss of its spire thanks to generations of committed parishioners.
But in recent time the Church has faced a new threat – vandalism. Under constant attack from graffiti, the church needed to find a cost-effective method to clean up its old brick walls and deter future vandals.
Using a range of non-abrasive cleaning techniques to protect the 140-year-old brick structure, Ecologic carried out a thorough remedial clean up of the ink and paint markings, taking care to remove the very faintest graffiti ‘shadows.’ An invisible anti-graffiti coating was then applied, which would allow future graffiti markings to be simply wiped clean with soapy water, offering a far more cost-effective maintenance solution.
In addition, EcoLogic provides regular photographic reports of these areas to help the council monitor and control the graffiti problem.
