The Coventry Blitz Memorial in Coventry's London Road Cemetery was erected after WWII to commemorate and honour more than 1200 of its citizens who were killed, 808 of whom are buried at the cemetery.
Each year a commemorative service is held at the large stone and marble memorial. In preparation for the 2006 service, Coventry City Council commissioned EcoLogic to clean the dirt and biological growth that had built up on the structure over time.
Using a combination of non-abrasive cleaning techniques that would ensure every name carved into the monument was not damaged, EcoLogic brought the original bright white colour of the structure back.
EcoLogic strives continually to provide its customers with an efficient and considerate service, but nowhere was this more important than when carrying out work within a churchyard. The Blitz Memorial took one full day to thoroughly clean and EcoLogic was careful to carry out work as quietly and respectfully as possible, liaising with cemetery management to ensure that its machinery would not be present should a funeral service take place.
